SPaRC & SPaRC'ed
Sponsored Programs and Research Compliance (SPaRC) is a comprehensive working group exclusively devoted to the management and administration of sponsored programs and open to all who wish to participate. The working group provides central and departmental administrative staff a platform to exchange and disseminate information related to the support of the sponsored portfolio.
The SPaRC Quarterly Meetings aim to provide a platform to exchange and disseminate information related to the support of the sponsored portfolio to central and departmental administrative staff. The meetings include discussions on current research administration topics, updates on policies and procedures, and upcoming events and opportunities.
The annual all-day SPaRC Retreat provides an opportunity for campus research administrators to come together to network and learn about relevant research administration topics, as well as celebrating their role in the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign research mission. The day includes guest speakers, plenary sessions on new initiatives and policy updates, and afternoon break-out sessions on a variety of sponsored project related topics.
SPaRC’Ed is the sponsored programs and research administration certification series for the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. The SPaRC working group and the Office of Vice Chancellor for Research and Innovation sponsor SPaRC’Ed, and it provides University of Illinois research administrators of all experience levels with the knowledge and skills necessary to effectively administer sponsored programs and research activities across the full project lifecycle. The program will benefit the individual participant in his or her overall knowledge growth and professional development as well as provided added benefits to his or her unit through the ability to better serve faculty and researchers.
